Initially, watercolour was my primary medium, but I have gradually added gouache, coloured pencil, pastels, inks,
acrylics, collage and printmaking to my supplies and techniques.
Many of my paintings are inspired by the diverse colour and form of flowers, some of which are executed in miniature. I also enjoy recording time-worn architectural subjects and this is where I often employ a mixed media approach to convey weathered and textured surfaces. Experimenting with new ideas and materials plays an important part in my artistic development and sketching a variety of subjects from life provides the foundation for much of my finished work.
In addition to showing work at local and county venues, I have had miniature paintings accepted for national open exhibitions of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters and was an exhibiting member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists and the Society of Floral Painters for a number of years. Currently I am a member of the Guild of Wiltshire Artists and Urban Sketchers Swindon.
