Swindon Urban Sketchers

A brilliant sunny day for today's meet at the play area, Cambrida Bridge Road.  Originally, this was the site of the canal through Swindon (now filled in with tarmac and providing a walkway towards the Town Centre).  The old canal bridge here was decorated with a canal scene in 1982 by local artist Ken White (renowned for his depiction of the Scarlet Lady emblem on Virgin Atlantic planes).  In need of restoration, it was replaced in 2015 with a more modern theme, including The Tardis (painted on a large concrete pillar) from the TV series Dr. Who.

The complete mural is about 4 times this length
